Chapter 9

"Oh, my baby!  What happened?"  Jen cried when she saw Drew on the couch, his foot layered in ice packs.

"I slipped and fell on a wet floor as I was coming back to the room after our date," he answered.  She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

"I'm taking you home with me so I can take care of you," Jen said as she got off of Drew.

"Oh, thank you!  You're a life saver!" one of the guys said.

"Shut up," Drew retorted.  Jen helped him off the couch and onto a chair.

"Where's your suitcase?" she asked.  "Never mind, I'll find it myself."  Jen walked into one of the rooms and was shocked at what she saw.  "You guys are pigs!  Get someone to clean this up before it starts growing mold."  There were clothes scattered all over the floor along with pizza boxes and food wrappers.  She found Drew's suitcase and picked it up.  Surprisingly, it was light and easy to carry.

            "We're leaving now?"  Drew asked.

"Yeah.  Don't you want to be away from the guys and alone with me?"  Jen answered.

"Hey, you're walking," Nick pointed out.

"Yep.  I've been walking since Monday.  Doctors are really stupid.  Sometimes they say things that are so wrong," she replied.

"That's amazing," Jeff said.  "How about your arm?"

"Cast comes off tomorrow morning, but I might need some therapy for that."

"Okay, can we leave now?"  Drew asked.  He was becoming impatient.

At Home a Few Hours Later

Drew lay on the couch watching a basketball game with Jen by his side.  She sat underneath his head and she played with his hair.  Drew didn't mind, he liked her fingers running over his skull.  It was a good thing that Jen's parents weren't home, or they'd be in some big trouble.

The phone began to ring.  "I'll let the machine get it," Jen said.

The recorder began and Jen's father spoke up, "Jen, I won't be home until next week.  A client wants me to be in New York for a trial.  I'll see you Monday.  Bye sweetie."

"One less person," Jen told Drew.  She didn't care about anything except for being with him.

The phone rang again, this time it was Jen's mom.  "I'm sorry, Jen, but I have to be in Chicago until Saturday.  I'm trusting you won't burn the house down, but you're brother will be in to check on you.  See you Saturday.  Bye."

"House all to ourselves," Drew said unenthusiastically.  He looked at Jen and smiled.

"I don't think so, Drew.  I'm a virgin," Jen strongly warned.

"Why is it that you always think that way?" he asked.

"Because that's what Dan always thought about," she answered.  She began feeling awkward about talking about what her ex-boyfriend used to do.

"I'm not Dan, so I don't think that way.  Besides, I'm hungry."

"Well, why didn't you say so?  Get off of me and I'll go get you something," Jen replied.  Drew sat up on the couch and she walked into the kitchen.  Roaming through the fridge, she found two slices of old cheese pizza.  They smelled fine, so Jen thought they were okay to eat.

"Oh, I love pizza," Drew said.  He quickly ate the slice and began looking disgusted.  "I don't think I feel so good."

"No wonder, you ate too fast.  Go to sleep and maybe you'll feel better when you wake up," Jen answered.  She found him a blanket and covered him with it.  Drew instantly fell asleep as Jen walked into the kitchen.  It was about time to take her next pill.

She returned to his side after she drank it down.  The game was beginning to get boring.  Jen flipped the channel to MTV and watched for a little while.  The video for 'Because of You' started to play.  Watching for Drew most of the time, she thought the video was pretty good.  The scene on the Golden Gate Bridge was cool.  He stirred on the couch and Jen looked up immediately.

"Jen," Drew whispered, "I seriously don't feel so good."

"Oh, baby.  What's wrong?" she asked.

"My stomach hurts and I'm cold," he answered.  Soon he began to feel dizzy.  "Jen, I think I'm going to be sick."

She got up and quickly ran to the kitchen to get the trash can.  "If you're going to throw up, do it in here," Jen said putting it next to Drew.

"Good thing you brought it now because here it comes," he warned.  Jen couldn't bare to watch.  She just wasn't able to take it when things like this happened.  "I'm done," Drew finally said.

Jen turned around and replied, "You're sick, all right."  She placed her hand on top of his forehead and added, "You're burning up.  It was probably that pizza."

"Jen, I get food poisoning easily," Drew whined.

"I'm so sorry, baby.  I didn't know.  Don't worry, I'll take care of you," she comforted.  Jen laid on top of Drew and kissed him.

"Where's your brother?  I don't want him to catch us," he said.

"He's at his college campus in San Francisco.  We've got nothing to worry about."  She began slipping off Drew's shirt.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm making you more comfortable.  Don't you want me to?"  Jen answered.

"Yeah, and you can take off the rest of my clothes for that matter," Drew said under his breath.

"What did you say, honey?" she questioned, not paying attention.  All Jen could look at was his perfect muscles.

"Nothing," he lied, grabbing Jen's waist and pulling her close.  Drew began to passionately kiss her lips and neck as she pinned him to the couch.

Jen found herself in a tight position.  She liked it when Drew kissed her that way, but she knew it was wrong to keep going.  Pulling away from his grasp, Jen said, "I can't do this.  I mean, it feels good and all, but we're rushing."

"I'm sorry, Jen.  I guess I got caught up in the moment," Drew apologized and let slide back to the floor.

"I didn't know that could feel so good," Jen thought.  She looked at Drew and ran her fingers through his hair.  "You're still hot," she said.  "I'm gonna get you some medicine for that fever."

The phone began ringing again.  Jen picked up the cordless as she walked into the kitchen.  "Hello?" she asked.

"Hey, Jen.  It's Dan.  I really have to talk to you," said the voice on the other end.

"Dan!  I thought I told you I never wanted to speak to you again," Jen retorted.  She took a bottle of Tylenol out of the medicine cabinet and waited for him to answer.

"You did, but I just wanted to know if you would forgive me.  I'm so sorry about what I've done," Dan apologized.

"Too late.  You're out of my life and someone else has taken your place," Jen said purposefully.  She walked back to Drew and handed him two pills with some water.

"I know you're just trying to piss me off.  There's nobody new," he denied.

"Wanna bet?"  Jen put the phone down and laid on top of Drew.  "Dan's on the phone.  I want you to kiss me and do anything else, but stay in the limits," she whispered.

"Jen!" she hear Dan yell into the phone.  She picked it up.  "You're not serious, are you?"

"Wait and see," she answered.  Jen bent down and began to kiss Drew.  She kissed his lips, then went down his chin and down to his neck.

"Oh, Jen," Drew said, a feeling of pleasure running through his body as she kissed his chest and stomach.  "Now you're . . . oh, that feels good."  Drew slid his hands up Jen's shirt so he could feel her soft skin.

"You're out of bounce," she whispered, about to kiss him again.

"Well, so are you," he answered back.

Jen got off of him and picked up the phone.  Dan was still on the other end trying to comprehend what he had just heard.  "I can't believe it," he said.

"Believe it, baby.  You're out of my life and Drew's in it," she replied, hanging up the phone.  Jen stared at Drew and said, "I can't believe I just did that."

"What?  Kiss me while on the phone?" he asked.

"Yeah," she answered.  Jen sat down on the floor and began to think.  Everything was a mixed up mess in her head.

"That was amazing.  I had no idea you could do such good things," Drew commented.

"Shut up, Drew.  I only did it because I wanted to piss Dan off.  Understand that I won't until I get married," Jen retorted.  She wasn't about to tell Drew that it felt good to her also.  "Can we get off this subject?  It's giving me a tremendous headache."

"Okay," he said.  "Come over here and lay down.  Get some rest.  You look like you need it."

"You aren't going to do anything like you did last time, right Andrew?" she asked, ready to lay down on top of him.

"Yes, Jennifer," he affirmed.  Jen rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.  She fell asleep on Drew as he kissed the top of her head.  "Good night," he whispered, covering them both with the blanket.  The rest of the night was quiet and peaceful.
