Just A Lilac

Your petals are perfect in every way
And give off a scent uniquely their own
The beautiful shades of purple appear
Whenever you bloom in the spring

Just staring at you is a guilty pleasure
Since you symbolize so much in so little
You can mean love, and you can mean sorrow
You can mean joy, and you can mean pain

Even though you’re only here for a little while
Your scent still fills my nostrils whenever I think of you
I know you’re just a lilac in real life
But you’re always going to mean so much more
