The Characters:
Main Characters:

Daniel Jones: He's the main character of the story and a member of the Aussie duo Savage Garden. Daniel is a bit shy and doesn't really open up to people. His best friends are those who he has known the longest, with the exception of Chance Malone. She came into his life after winning a contest at MTV and Darren Hayes, his band mate, decided to record his solo album with her. From that point on, Daniel and Chance were two peas in a pod, both sharing the same interests and love of music. They hit it off perfectly. His other friends include Rebecca Mostow, Savage Garden's manager, and Charles Fisher, the producer of the bands first album. Daniel's quite cute. (Just take a look up at the pic and you'll see why.) The best things about him are his intense green eyes. They have that mesmerizing aspect that draws attention. Daniel is also very perceptive and notices all the little details from gestures to subtle changes in someone's mood. He can tell when someone's depressed or happy, even when someone just needs a person to listen to them. He's great with advice, but it has backfired on him once. You'll have to read the later chapters of Dreams Really Can Come True to see what I mean. As the story progresses, Daniel begins to fall in love with Alexia Potter (see below for more info.) Unfortunately, she's a dud, so of course he gets really distracted about it and goes a little nutty. Chance and Darren find him sitting on their front porch one day in the rain as sick as a dog wallowing in his sorrow over Alexia. As more time passes, he meets someone new, but this time he takes the time to realize that she's the one he's meant to be with and that Alexia was just the catalyst to get to that new person. (I'm not naming anyone just yet because this is all going to tie into Dreams Really Can Come True, and I don't wanna spoil that story.)

Alexia Potter: Daniel's first love interest. She's a crafty young vixen who's only after him for his money. She's very pretty, with long blond hair, deep sky blue eyes, tanned golden brown skin, cherry red lips that pouted in the shape of a heart, 120 pounds, 5’7”, always wearing designer clothing, and has a distinctive NY accent. On top of all that, she's a con artist. Born and raised in New York, Alexia was orphaned at an early age and had to live on the streets, where she acquired her niche. Daniel is her first big con even though she has been doing the trade for nearly her entire life. As the story progresses, she begins to see him as more than just another con, she sees him as a person who truly loves her. These feelings lead to her downfall in the end where she finally cracks and tells Daniel everything.

Shiri Appleby: Daniel's second love interest and the mystery character that I was telling you about. She has a starring role on the TV series "Roswell." She plays the character of Liz Parker. The strange thing about her is that she looks a lot like Chance, and most of the time the two end up getting mistaken. Shiri and Daniel meet after an accident nearly paralyzes him. Chance sends her and Majandra Delfino, another cast member from “Roswell,” to check on Daniel since she’s forced to stay on the set to shoot her scenes. It’s not love at first sight since Daniel is still overcoming what happened between him and Alexia. As the months go by and he gets better, things begin to change between them and they become more than friends. Many more things happen between them that strengthens the bond they have. Later on in the story, she is the one that reveals a secret that may concern Chance and her origins.

Other Characters:

Darren Hayes: Daniel's best friend and band mate. He's the one guy that Daniel confides in. Being together in the same band for nearly 6 years tends to do that to people. Darren is the wild, outgoing type who is absolutely in love with Chance Malone.

Chance Malone: Daniel's best gal pal, and the only character in the story that is allowed to call him Danny, but that changes later on. The two are best friends from the beginning and end up teaching each other many things about life. They go through some of the same heart-wrenching situations, and both are able to find comfort through the other's pain. The share their passion for music, and Chance learns a lot from Daniel as their friendship grows. The relationship is purely plutonic, Daniel considering Chance as the sister he never had. Of course they fight like siblings, but always "kiss and make up." After the harsh breakup with Alexia, Daniel and Chance grow the closest. And as Chance expands her creative horizons, Daniel is introduced to someone new. As Daniel gets to know this new person, his perceptive powers elude him to more than just looks. There's something very unique about her and the bond she shares with Chance. This leads him to discover the most curtail information concerning Chance and her life.

Majandra Delfino: She's a friend of Chance and Shiri. Majandra plays the character of Maria De Luca on "Roswell." She's always the one helping everyone out. And it's no surprise that her boyfriend, Brendan Fehr, also plays a character on "Roswell," Michael Guerin.

Rebecca Mostow: Savage Garden's manager and one of Daniel's best friends. She's the one that annoys the hell out of him, yet he can stand her. The only time that he's ever pissed at her is when she calls him Danny.

Charles Fisher: He's the producer of Savage Garden's first CD. He doesn't have an important role in the story; he's just the guy who gives Chance her big break and helps the guys out with problems.

The Music:

Title: Well, the only reason I can give as of now about why I chose to tall the story “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” a song by Jennifer Lopez, is because money doesn’t buy love, and I think that theme is going to be explored through the characters in the story.

Chapter 1: Lovefool: I don’t know what I was on when I chose this song by The Cardigans as the title for the chapter. I think maybe it vaguely had a little connection with what happens to one of the main characters. That’s about it, though.

Chapter 2: Can I Get Your Number: Kinda indicative of what happens between the two main characters in this chapter. There’s not too much detail to go into about this song by No Authority.

Chapter 3: Somewhere In Between: This song, by Lifehouse, is probably the best way to sum up the chapter because one of the main characters is stuck in between her head and her feelings, and she’s finding it really hard to ignore what her heart says.

Chapter 4: Quit Playing Games: Yes, Backstreet Boys. Please don't kill me. The song just kinda totally fit the mood of the chapter, so I think the title is appropriate.

Chapter 5: I Could Not Ask For More: I really like the country version of this song sung by Sarah Evans. It corresponds with the chapter because of what happens. It's really sweet and crazy.

Chapter 6: Last Flight Out: Okay, the name of this chapter comes from a really sweet song by Plus One. The chapter so completely goes with the song. I don't know how I could have gotten such a great match.

Chapter 7: In Too Deep: This chapter is not named after any song. It's titled for the content in the chapter, which gets really interesting.

Chapter 8: No Easy Goodbye: This song, by my other favorite group in the world, South 65, somewhat goes with the chapter, but not entirely. The title is perfect becuase it's all about hard goodbyes.

Chapter 9: Here's To The Night: Probably one of my favorite songs by Eve 6, I chose this one to represent this chapter because it totally describes the mood. That's pretty much all I have to say about it.

Chapter 10: The Truth Behind The Lies: There is no song behind this chapter. The title pretty much gives away what it's all about. Just to say one thing, the really good stuff is coming soon, so stay tuned.

Chapter 11: Outside: This is probably the best song to describe this chapter because it deals with seeing the real side of someone that you barely know and witnessing a very painful experience. This is a very strong chapter, so I strongly advise you read with a tissue in hand becuase I guarenttee you're going to be bawling.

Chapter 12: Crawling In My Skin: I love this song by Linkin Park, and the meaning is pretty much perfect for this chapter because so much stuff happens. There's a lot of drug and alcohol abuse, so if you plan to read this chapter, I warned you, it's really explicite.

Chapter 13: Bad Day: Just to let you know, I LOVE Fuel, and this is one of my fave songs off their "Something Like Human" album. Anyway, in this chapter, someone has a bad day, and when I say bad day, I mean a BAD DAY.

Chapter 14: Only Fools Ruch In: Okay, just to tell you, I love UB40, and I love this song, so don't start with me. Anyway, this chapter is about two of the main characters coming together and doing some crazy things. WARNING: There is some mature content, so I highly advise that the little ones don't read this chapter and ask about what happens instead.

Chapter 15: Hell Breaks Lose: There's no real song behind this title. It's more about the content of the chapter. Hell actually does break lose for most of the characters and it leads to some really strange things in the next chapter.

Chapter 16: Let Me Let Go: I changed the title of this chapter twice. This was the winning choice because it fit the idea of the chapter. Two of the main characters can't seem to get rid of their bad luck until the let go of their pase.

Chapter 17: I Can't Say: This is probably one of my favorite songs by BB Mak. It totally goes with the chapter because the main characters can't really express their feeling for each other and are having a really hard time doing so until there's some divine intervention.

Chapter 18: Unwanted Mistakes: There is no song that I titled this chapter for, but there is some strong stuff that happens. One of the main characters finds out that something is very wrong with her life and she can't confront the person who caused it.

Chapter 19: Secrets: This is no song for this chapter. Someone is keeping some secrets, and it appeas that nobody will ever find out.

Chapter 20: Viva Las Vegas: I guess you could say I titled this song after an Elvis hit, but not really. It just fit with the idea of the chapter. This is where the big secret is revealed about some relationships. Also, something really big happens between the main characters.

Chapter 21: Everything Falls Apart: Kinda redundant titles, huh? You know, from the other story. Anyway, take a look at DRCCT for the reason I chose this song. Everything seems to go down the tubes after a huge secret is exposed.

Chapter 22: Amongst The Ruins: Picking up the pieces where the last chapter left off. Expect some stuff that I didn't inclued in DRCCT.

Chapter 23: Together Again: Another redundant song title. (Sorry, it just fits.) Anyway, this chapter is pretty much the same as the one in DRCCT, just a little twist added in the beginning.

Chapter 24: Oh What A Night: I love that song by Billy Joel, and Vitamin C did a great remake of it. Anyway, this chapter is pretty much about one strange occurance that happens during the night.

Chapter 25: Family Affair: I love Mary J., and I love this song even though it means nothing to they story except for the title. Anyway, some really big stuff happens in this chapter. One of the main characters gets to meet her real parents for the fiirst time.

Chapter 26: Edge Of The Ocean: This is definitely one of my favorite songs by Ivy. I heard it on "Roswell" a few weeks ago and had to use it in the story. Anyway, This chapter has no reference for DRCCT. It's totally original! I'm just warning you, there is some very mature stuff in here, so I don't advise the little kids to read it. The main characters go on their honeymoon in the Florida Keys, but something goes wrong out there.

Chapter 27: Back To Square One: No real song title used in this chapter. Anyway, a few of the main characters head to Australia to help their burnt out friend plan her wedding, then find out that she's just been nominated for 12 Grammies.

Chapter 28: I Can Be Your Hero: This has to be my absolute favorite Enrique Iglesias song. It's just so sweet and goes perfect with the end of the story. It's finally the day of the wedding and everything goes well.
