Faith Break

"Well, it's been a week since my parents and I disowned each other. It's been on my mind 24/7, but with Darren trying hard to keep me from thinking about it, I think I might push it into the back of my mind and eventually forget about it. I really shouldn't be worried about that. I need to concentrate on planning the wedding.

"Morgan is being a big help. She's already helped me chose the date, April 18 (about three weeks from now), the location, a beach a few miles out of the city on Lake Michigan, the invitations, the guest list, which doesn't include my parents and is pretty small (just how I had always planned), the restaurant for the reception, a cute little place in the city called Sauce, and some of the songs that are going to be played, which do include Savage Garden and stuff from Darren's album. Come on, that's got to be a no brainer.

"That reminds me, Darren wants me to go to Australia with him so I can meet his parents. I figure that if I do go with him, the same thing is going to rear its ugly head again. But Darren assured me that his parents were nothing like my parents. I hope he's right because we're supposed to be staying out there until next week. As you can see I'm packing for the trip right now. And I am bringing Hope and Morgan with me. There's no way I'd leave those two out of anything.

"Mor is dying to see Ben again. I still can't believe those two are also getting married. I can see that they are so in love with each other. Mor stays on the phone for hours with him. My bill must be over $500 by now. But every long distance call that I see on there, Mor is paying for it, and thankfully she has agreed. I don't have the money to be paying for that big of a bill.

"You know what I've been thinking? I've been thinking about dropping out of school. It sounds like the right thing to do because I want to spend whatever time I have left with my family, not worrying about papers and projects. I've already got the papers ready for it. All I have to do is drop them off at the financial aid offices. I'll do that right before we leave for Australia.

"Okay, I'd better finish packing. I'll continue this later."
