Chapter 12: Planning The Attack

“Son of a bitch!” Alanna screamed as she fell into one of the stools. With her head in her hands, she began to cry.

Destiny came up behind her and wrapped her arms around her shoulders. Plucking the note out of Alanna’s fingers, she read it to herself. “Alanna, I’m so sorry,” she tried to comfort.

“Vladimir took Darren. That fat bastard!” Alanna groaned as she tried to contain her anger. She slammed her fist down onto the tabletop and stood up. “I’m going to do this alone. I don’t give a damn what Rogers says. I have to get Darren and my brother out of there. I don’t care if I die doing it.”

“Stop talking crazy. Call Rogers and tell him what’s happened. He’ll have a team together by tonight if he finds out that an international pop star has been kidnapped,” Destiny reasoned.

“Fuck that. He’s not gonna do anything. He’s gonna think I’m making the whole thing up. I’m doing this alone. Are you gonna help me or not?” Alanna asked.

“You’re insane,” Destiny shot back. “Fucking crazy! There’s no way I’m going to risk my life.”

“Fine, not like I care. I can do this alone,” Alanna calmly replied as she went into the bathroom and found her bag untouched. She pulled out her revolver and checked to make sure she had enough bullets left in it. She also pulled out her second bulletproof vest and strapped it over her chest. Alanna found more bullets beneath her stack of clothing and put them into the pockets of her vest.

“Alanna, what the hell are you doing?” Destiny yelled.

“What do you think I’m doing? I’m going to save them,” her friend answered in determination.

Destiny pulled a second revolver from Alanna’s bag and replied, “You really wanna kill me before I get married, don’t you?” she asked.

“No,” Alanna replied. “I just need your help. I’ll go in, you cover me. It’s not that hard.”

“What about me?” another voice came from behind them. Alanna and Destiny turned around to see Daniel standing behind them. “I heard you talking.”

“Dan, you’re not getting in the middle of this,” Destiny firmly replied.

“I don’t even know what’s going on. Care to explain?” he asked.

“Darren and my brother have been kidnapped,” Alanna answered. “We’re going out to get them. If you want to come, just say the word and I’ll hand you a gun.”

            “Hand it over,” Daniel said.

            “Daniel!” Destiny screeched. “No!”

“Darren’s my best friend. I’m coming with you no matter what,” he replied.

Alanna handed him her second to last gun. She quickly pulled out a pair of black pants and a black shirt from her bag and went into Darren’s room to change. She slipped the other two guns into the waistline of her pants and walked out with the vest firmly secured beneath her shirt.

“Do you have any idea what you’re doing?” Destiny asked as she walked in.

“Nope, but I’m not about to leave the house without a plan of attack,” Alanna replied as she strode back into the kitchen, grabbing her back from the bathroom. She placed it on the counter and began to rummage through it. She found a map, a first aid kit, and a few more packs of bullets. Unfolding the map, she looked at the circled areas on it. She crossed off one and tried to decide between the other three which one was the best location.

“Seems like Vladimir has been moving around a lot,” Destiny commented as she stared at the map in her friend’s hand.

“Yeah, he’s got two more places that we’ve checked out,” Alanna replied. She crossed off another circle leaving them with two more locations. “You see these?” she asked, pointing to them. “These are Vlad’s new places. This one on the left was purchased a few months ago. The one on the right, three weeks ago. I think that’s the one we should be looking at because it has a cold storage facility built in. If Vlad wanted to torture anyone, he’d do it there.”

“Oh, God, that sounds awful,” Daniel said.

“If anything, Dmitri is the one that’s received the biggest beating. Don’t worry about Darren yet. I don’t think they’ve gotten to him yet. It’s too early in the game. If anything, they’ll start interrogating him tomorrow. That leaves us an open window tonight to figure out how we’re going to sneak into this place and get him and Dmitri out,” Alanna explained.

“And you know this place, right?” Destiny asked.

“Like the back of my hand. I was the one who scoped it out for Vlad,” Alanna replied. “I know the best way to get in and out, but it’s gonna take some climbing. Anyone afraid of heights?” Daniel and Destiny shook their heads. “Good, here’s what we’re gonna do…”
